CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Immediate Opening: Licensed Child/Family Psychologist

Great Life Counseling Center has an immediate opening for a gifted & self-motivated licensed psychologist/supervisor with specialties in child & family psychotherapy and interest in supervising psychological assessments! Great Life Counseling Center (GLCC) is a private counseling center based in Addison, TX, which provides a variety of psychological services and specializes in marriage/couples, child/family issues, faith and existential exploration, relational/emotional trauma, and individual adjustment or life transitions.

The selected candidate will initially be offered a 12-18 month 1099 independent contractor agreement to build a private practice business with the support & infrastructure of the Great Life Counseling Center platform.  Applicants interested in being a part of a group practice for their long term career are preferred.  Regardless, the selected clinician will learn much about the business of private practice during their contract term and, following the clinician’s completion of their agreement, the Great Life team will offer guidance & support for the successful launch of their own solo practice.

Responsibilities and Duties
The group’s mission statement is ‘to strengthen relationships and enhance lives in support of healthier families and communities.’  In pursuit of this mission, the members of the group share a common interest in working with families, doing outreach/networking in the community, and collaborating with other members of the team.  To increase collaboration, every member of the team specializes in or at least shares a strong interest in working with couples and/or kids & their parents.

The selected candidate must be a self-starter with a desire to learn how to build and maintain a full time private practice with a caseload that will be largely comprised (i.e., at least 40%) of work with couples and/or children. While psychotherapy is the primary modality of treatment, the selected clinician will be expected to have sufficient training to contribute a portion of their clinical hours to child and adult therapeutic assessment work as well as help with providing assessment supervision to student clinicians. Networking and public speaking are also important skills for business development. Thus, solid skills or at least an interest in growing in these areas is required.

All GLCC clinicians are expected to share an eagerness to learn and contribute to the success of the group as a whole while independently attending to the details of growing their own practice (i.e., managing caseload, administrative duties/projects, and schedule for getting things done). GLCC clinicians strive to schedule 25 scheduled psychotherapy sessions per week plus at least two hours per week of marketing/networking and actively participate in GLCC’s promotional events and weekly consultation meetings.

Qualifications and Skills
All applicants must have earned a doctorate degree in psychology or marriage & family therapy from an APA or COAMFTE accredited program and either be fully licensed according to a Texas State Board or be eligible to become fully licensed within 3 months of accepting GLCC’s contract offer.  Strong writing skills and a background in child and adult psychological assessment (cognitive, adaptive, LD/ADHD evals, career assessments, etc.) is required, as is the ability to learn quickly and integrate new information and techniques. Experience or interest in cultural diversity and trauma work is also strongly preferred.

Estimated Income: Monthly compensation is based on a percentage of revenue collections plus incentives for higher productivity.  $70-85k is a conservative range for the initial contract.
